Art Group at The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey

What to expect

Run by Jo, a volunteer, the Art Group at The Farmland Museum & Denny Abbey is an informal gathering of artists of all ages, abilities and backgrounds who come together to sketch, paint and draw. For subject matter, you can either be inspired by The Farmland Museum, Denny Abbey or the grounds, or Jo brings interesting objects for still life studies.

It isn’t an art class, there’s no instruction, but the group has some experienced artists who can offer advice. You can bring your own materials or Jo usually has paper and art supplies.

After the session, members of the group often have lunch or coffee together in the Docky Box Café onsite.

The Art Group meets every two weeks on a Thursday from 10.30am-12.30pm – dates/times are on this link.

The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey is open from late March to late October and from Thursday to Sunday (plus public holidays). Find current opening days/times on this link.

The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey is located just off the A10, north of Waterbeach and between Cambridge & Ely. There’s plenty of parking onsite.

The Farmland Museum is an independent charity and Denny Abbey is owned by English Heritage.

To join the Art Group, you’ll need to pay admission to The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey, however once purchased, a ticket allows repeat visits during opening hours for 12 months at no extra cost. For details of charges, visit this link.
