A Stay and Play session for young parents aged 25 and under with children aged 0-5 years held in Melbourn. You don't have to live in Melbourn to attend.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- meeting other parents and carers and sharing experiences is reassuring and reduces isolation;
- Stay and Play activities are an excellent way to support your child’s development and learning;
- your confidence will grow by observing and being around others – and professionals are available to help you with any concerns you have.
“I can’t thank you enough, the support you’ve given me & my daughter over the past year is incredible, I started the young mums group as a scared 21 year old who don’t know even where to begin and you grew my confidence to explore other groups, do things with my daughter, explore new things with her and helped me become the best mum I can! I’m gutted to be now leaving young mum group but hope to be able to come back during half terms! You don’t realise the amazing impact you have on young mums who feel so judged in a society, the young mum group you run makes it a safe, unjudged environment, where we can make friends and talk openly without the fear of being looked down upon.”

What to expect
A range of toys, play equipment and activities are available in ‘stations’ for your child to explore and play with. There could be messy activities so please dress your child in something you don’t mind getting dirty.
There’s a quieter baby area with wiggle mats, baby toys and cushions for your baby, and you can use this area for feeding. Self-weigh facilities are available during sessions if you’d like to weigh your baby.
Some Stay and Play groups include circle-time for rhymes, stories and singing. Please bring along some fruit or vegetables to be shared by the group at snack time.
Children do need to be supervised but you can still meet/chat with other parents/carers.
