Choir2000Back to Activities
Choir2000 is a friendly, supportive community choir based in Histon but not just for local residents. There are no auditions - all abilities and voices are welcome.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- singing in a choir is a proven stress buster;
- learning a new skill – like singing – is good for improving memory and cognition;
- it is a supportive, non-judgemental choir – no-one minds if you are off key or out of tune!
“Singing in a choir is such a joyful experience and a chance to meet like-minded people” Susie Savage, Choir Secretary

What to expect
Choir2000 was formed as a millennium project but kept going! Under the musical direction of Chloe Allison, the choir rehearses once a week (details on this link) and performs at concerts.
There are no auditions and you can even go along to a free taster session if you’d like to give it try before you join the choir.
You don’t need any previous singing experience or know how to read music, just a willingness to get involved – the emphasis is on having fun and singing together, not a polished performance!
