Choir2000

Back to Activities

Choir2000 is a friendly, supportive community choir based in Histon but not just for local residents. There are no auditions - all abilities and voices are welcome.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • singing in a choir is a proven stress buster;
  • learning a new skill – like singing – is good for improving memory and cognition;
  • it is a supportive, non-judgemental choir – no-one minds if you are off key or out of tune!

“Singing in a choir is such a joyful experience and a chance to meet like-minded people”  Susie Savage, Choir Secretary

What to expect

Choir2000 was formed as a millennium project but kept going! Under the musical direction of Chloe Allison, the choir rehearses once a week (details on this link) and performs at concerts.

There are no auditions and you can even go along to a free taster session if you’d like to give it try before you join the choir.

You don’t need any previous singing experience  or know how to read music, just a willingness to get involved – the emphasis is on having fun and singing together, not a polished performance!

Find out more by sending an email or completing the ‘Join Us’ form on the website and someone will get back to you with more information about the next taster session or rehearsal.
