Held once a week at Gamlingay Baptist Church, Renew at the Backroom Café is a kind and calm place for adults who want to connect with others or who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Led by a team of volunteers, for people of all faiths and none.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- having somewhere to go where you don't have to put on a brave face is a relief - you'll get a warm welcome on good days and bad;
- there are activities you can get on with including art, crafts and jigsaw puzzles - or you can just 'be' - no pressure to chat if you aren't in the mood;
- getting out of the house and having something to look forward to builds healthy, positive routines and purpose.
"It's OK not to feel OK."
