The HI Friends Wellbeing Café offers a friendly & non-judgmental space for over 18s who are experiencing mental wellbeing challenges. Brought to you by HI Friends but open to all, not just Histon and Impington residents.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- meeting people who have similar experiences can make us feel less alone;
- finding other sources of support can be overwhelming – a Wellbeing Worker can talk to you and signpost relevant services & activities;
- getting out of the house and doing something different is daunting but the sense of achievement afterwards is great.

What to expect
Held every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Kay Hitch Community Centre, the HI Friends Wellbeing Café is for anyone feeling isolated, lonely or overwhelmed and for those feeling anxious or suffering from low mood, depression or memory loss. Carers and family members are also welcome.
You will get a friendly hello and be offered refreshments. You can meet & chat with others or just sit quietly and listen if you prefer. It is a supportive space, but it is not group therapy. Sophie, the HI Friends Wellbeing Worker is available to signpost you to counselling or other services if that would be helpful.
If you aren’t sure if the Café is for you, or you’d like to meet Sophie who runs the Café beforehand so you’ll know a friendly face, you can call her on 07922 083991.
The Café is for anyone over the age of 18 wherever you live – you don’t have to be from Histon or Impington.
Attending the Café is free and so are the refreshments.
This activity is organised by HI Friends.
