Hope Active

Back to Activities

Hope Active aims to support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of people aged 60+ with group exercise and social activities in communities throughout South Cambs.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • meeting other local people reduces social isolation;
  • getting out and about with day trips, sociable activities and helping out with community growing projects gives you something to look forward to;
  • staying physically and mentally active can prevent more serious health problems as you age.

What to expect

Social Sessions - a laid-back way to unwind, meet new people and enjoy some friendly company during the day, including refreshments. Optional activities may include classic and modern board games; arts & crafts; bingo, giant dominoes and carnival games.

Pop-Up Support - guest speakers on a variety of topics and/or digital support (for example, help setting up online shopping or getting the most out of your smartphone).

Targeted Exercise - nature walks, field trips, therapeutic gardening and other nature-based activities for older adults in small groups and facilitated by the Hope Active team or volunteers. All equipment and instruction provided but if the activity is outdoors wear clothes and shoes to suit the weather and season!
To find out what is going on, where and when either visit the online schedule on this link or follow the Facebook page for regular updates.
