Living Sport

Back to Activities

Living Sport is a charity working to improve the health, happiness and wellbeing of people of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough by inspiring them to get active.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • volunteering in sports and physical activity supports people to connect with others, give back to their community and meet new friends;
  • taking part in sports and physical activity not only improves peoples physical health it also improves mental wellbeing;
  • getting involved in physical activity helps manage low mood, stress and anxiety.

“I found the sessions helped me to both unwind and be more aware of my posture and negative thoughts… My sleep pattern has improved as a result… I felt more relaxed for the rest of the day.”

Living Sport works with local clubs, groups and organisations to support them to run sports and physical activities.

Living Sport offers free online training, alongside advice/promotion for their partner sports organisations. See the Living Sport website for details of activities near you.

Living Sport also manages Cambs Open Space, a website that provides information about the county’s parks and open spaces. This website aims to engage and encourage residents and visitors to make more of the valuable local space and visit parks they may not have previously explored.
