Memory Lane is a friendly & informal volunteer-run group for people living with memory loss and their companions. Held in Gamlingay Eco Hub, you don't have to be a resident of Gamlingay to attend - everyone will receive a warm welcome.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- meeting other people facing similar challenges helps you feel less alone;
- it is a friendly group but there is no pressure to chat – you can get on with activities or just ‘be’;
- it is a supportive, non-judgemental space – no-one minds if you are tired, forgetful or not feeling your best.
“Memory loss can be isolating. This group gets people together.” Gerry, who helped found Memory Lane.

What to expect
Memory Lane was founded by Gerry, Kate and Hilary as a way of helping people living with memory loss (and their companions) to connect with each other whilst enjoying a range of different activities. It is a happy, relaxed group that meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month (click this link for details).
If you’d like to attend, call or email Kate, who manages the EcoHub, using the contact information provided. Ideally you should bring a companion, but there are volunteers on hand to keep you company if you are alone. Each session varies, led by requests from the group – there may be singing, music, chat or arts & crafts. Refreshments are served too.
There’s no pressure to stay for the entire session, you can just go along and see if it is something you’d enjoy. Gerry, Hilary and Kate are very welcoming hosts and would love to see you.
