Mindful Walk with ESEA Cambridge

Back to Activities

ESEA Cambridge is a network for East and South East Asian communities in Cambridgeshire. It aims to foster a sense of community and belonging by running a monthly mindful walk at Milton Country Park - an opportunity to get out in nature and meet new people.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • your mind and body will benefit from a mindful walk in a natural environment;
  • you can meet people from similar cultural backgrounds;
  • you can find people to speak your own language with.

“It was really wonderful to meet people from various backgrounds and chat along the way to explore the natural together. My two kids really enjoyed it and were all inspired by the rest of the members. Cannot wait to join the next walking!”

“I recently moved to Cambridge and really enjoyed attending the walk and connecting with the attendees during and post the walk! A great way to meet new people and have enjoyable conversations! The organizers are very inclusive, warm and open.”

What to expect

The mindful walk is held at Milton Country Park on the first Saturday of every month from 11.30am – 12.30pm. It is an opportunity to get out of the house and into nature, to enjoy some moments of quiet, and also to meet new people.

One of the aims of the walk is to provide an opportunity for people of East and South East Asian heritage to come together to help foster stronger networks and a wider sense of community. However it is not limited to people from these groups – everyone is welcome.

Meet at the park entrance by the information notice board near the toilets (see the photo above). The group will take a gentle stroll together around the park. No experience or minimum fitness level is required. The walk is suitable for children, who will need to be supervised. There are accessible routes for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

After the walk people sometimes head to the café at Milton Country Park to continue chatting over a cup of tea or coffee.

If you would like to join a walk email [email protected], sign up on Eventbrite or contact the organisers via the ESEA Facebook group.
