Northstowe Chorus

Back to Activities

Northstowe Chorus is a new choir that rehearses monthly and is for all adult singers, regardless of ability (you don't have to audition). The choir will perform at community events. Open to anyone - you don't have to be a resident of Northstowe to take part.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • singing is proven to lift the spirits and improve well being;
  • singing as part of a group can reduce stress, boost happiness and improve memory and lung function;
  • learning songs and performing gives a great sense of achievement!

 “What a fantastic evening singing at the Northstowe Chorus rehearsal. Lovely music and what a great sound we made!”

What to expect

Rehearsals take place every month on a Tuesday evening (7-8.30pm) and are led by Audrey Caldwell who is the Director of Music for Meridian Academies Trust.

Music is provided and covers a range of genres and styles.

There's no audition, but do contact Audrey via email to let her know you are coming and to confirm rehearsal dates. You don't need to read music to join in and people of all abilities are welcome!

Northstowe Chorus will perform at local community events - Audrey will let you know dates so you can check you are available.
