The Rotary Memory Café in Royston is an opportunity for those living with dementia or memory loss (and their carers) to get together, enjoy refreshments, attend informal talks and socialise.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- socialising with memory-loss can be difficult, but everyone at the Royston Rotary Memory Café is understanding and supportive;
- meeting other people with similar experiences tackles loneliness and isolation;
- the Café provides emotional and practical support for carers and family members.
“We will have only missed one of these meetings (because we were snowed in!) and we’ve enjoyed every one of them. I think that just coming for a coffee and chat is lovely in itself. Thank you to all the people who have made this monthly event possible.”
