Strong Supple Sound - Yoga & Sound Therapy

Back to Activities

Friendly and informal yoga classes led by Julie in Milton suitable for mobile adults of all ages and abilities. Julie also offers SUP Yoga sessions on the lake at Milton Country Park and crystal bowl sound therapy sessions.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • regular yoga helps to improve and maintain strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility;
  • a single yoga session can help your nervous system to relax and bring a sense of calm and wellbeing;
  • yoga practice brings mindful awareness to the physical body and to the breath - being connected to the present moment can reduce stress.

"I am really enjoying our classes - it always feels that we are being stretched (yes pun intended) but not overly pushed. The sessions have never got into the rut of 'the same old, same old' as you always introduce a different focus or theme and again I like that."

What to expect

  • Yoga

Friendly, informal and relaxed evening yoga classes for mobile adults of all ages and abilities at Milton Community Centre. Led by Julie, an experienced yoga teacher, the style of yoga varies but often includes elements of slow flow with guided relaxation at the end. Wear stretchy, comfortable clothing and bring your own mat and water. Sessions last for one hour.

  • Crystal Bowl Sound Therapy

Soothing Crystal Bowl Sound Therapy sessions based on the theory that sound waves can shift brain states from alert to relaxed, you will sit or lie whilst Julie uses sound to guide you. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your own mat and water. Attendance is required for the whole of the session, which lasts for one hour.

  • Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothes.

  • Mindful Water
