Walking Netball

Back to Activities

It's netball...but walking! Suitable for over 50’s, people in pre-retirement, people wanting to get back into sport at a slower pace and those recovering from injury. Sessions are held in Histon and Royston.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • learning and improving skills is good for cognition;
  • team sports are a great way to meet new people;
  • exercise is good for physical and mental wellbeing.

An introduction to Walking Netball:

What to expect

Walking Netball is netball at walking pace with some of the rules slightly tweaked. It is a fun and inclusive sport, and sessions are led by experienced Walking Netball coaches who can explain the rules and ensure everyone joins in. Wear comfortable clothes and trainers and bring water.

Histon & Impington Recreation Ground sessions are led by Forever Active – there’s a beginners class for those who’d like to learn to play, and a regular class for more experienced players.
