Waterbeach Life Drawing

Back to Activities

Weekly life drawing sessions at which beginners and more seasoned artists can draw the human figure from life.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it’s a great way of releasing stress;
  • drawing is an absorbing and mindful activity – you get lost in the present moment;
  • learning a new skill or improving an existing skill is very rewarding.

“A relaxing evening in a warm, creative & friendly environment. It was completely absorbing and a lovely way to unwind.”

What to expect

Starting at 7.30pm every Thursday for two hours, artists of all abilities sketch an unclothed model at timed intervals guided by Peter Sutton – a professional artist who founded the group. There’s no tuition and no pressure to share/discuss your work, just time to explore your creativity and observational skills.

Halfway through the session is a break for refreshments and you can help yourself to a hot drink and a biscuit. This is when you can chat with other members of this small and friendly group.
