Waterbeach Wellness Walk

Back to Activities

A free monthly group walk of around 5km at a gentle pace in and around Waterbeach.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • getting outside lifts your mood – whatever the weather;
  • it’s a good way to meet people – there’s more time to chat after the walk over refreshments;
  • if you want to be more active, walking is a great place to start.

“It’s a fantastic way to get to know the area and meet local people.”

Taking part in Waterbeach Wellness Walk:

What to expect

Led by trained Wellbeing Walk leader, Caroline Ward (Community Development, Urban & Civic plc), the Waterbeach Wellness Walk is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes long and covers about 5km. You can walk as far and as fast (or slow) as you like – no-one will get left behind.

Wear weather appropriate clothes and footwear and bring water. Well behaved dogs are welcome. You might want to bring binoculars as there is wildlife and birds to spot.

After the walk, refreshments will be available with more time to chat to other walkers.

More information

Walks are held at 1pm on the first Tuesday of each month. Walks will usually start off at the Community Room next to the Museum on the former barracks site with an option to do a shorter walk – check with Caroline first about routes and starting points.

Taking part in the walk is free and so are the refreshments afterwards.
