Cambridge Let's Talk About Loss

Back to Support

Lets Talk About Loss is a bereavement charity for 18 - 35 year olds with the mission that no young griever grieves alone. They host monthly meet ups in Cambridge to help young grievers to get support and connect with other young people that 'get it'.

What to expect

Let's Talk About Loss hosts monthly meet ups in Cambridge for 18-35 year olds who have experienced a bereavement. The meet ups are an opportunity to talk about grief as much or as little as you like, while also socialising and having fun. The meet ups are always centred around an activity of some kind, for example arts and crafts, chats in cafes, game nights, walks in nature, paddleboarding or kayaking.

The timing and location vary each month. Information about upcoming events is posted on the Let's Talk about Loss Cambridge Facebook group and WhatsApp group. If you are interested in going along to a meet up you can fill in the contact form on the Let's Talk About Loss website or email [email protected] who will let you know more information.

Each meet up is led by a volunteer host who provides support through active listening and can provide signposting to other services if needed.

Let's Talk About Loss are committed to inclusivity and accessibility. They aim to host events that are as accessible as possible. Please do let the team know if you have any requirements. If you would like a carer or support person to attend the meet up with you let the team know by email.

More information

Let's Talk About Loss is a national charity aiming to connect young people who are grieving to a community that is going through the same experience. They want to reduce the stigma around grief and the isolation that young grievers feel.

In addition to the Cambridge meet up there is also a monthly online meet up on Zoom. Visit the website for more information.

There are also specific online meet ups for grievers who belong to marginalised groups such as disabled grievers, LGBTQIA grievers, and more. Email [email protected] to find out more.

There are also opportunities to volunteer as a host. If you are interested contact the team.

Let's Talk About Loss meet ups are only for young people who have been bereaved of a human relative or friend. If you are struggling with the loss of a pet you can find information about organisations offering support on this Pet Bereavement and Pet Support page.
