Flip Forward - Flipside C2C CIC

Back to Support

Flip Forward is a programme for adults who have experienced homelessness, addiction or long-term unemployment. Initially focused in Royston, it is not a crisis service but grows confidence, skills and direction through a step-by-step series of workshops and one-to-one support.

"I went from believing I was worthless to knowing I have value to offer others. That's not just career change - that's complete life transformation." David - one of the founders of Flipside C2C CIC

What to expect

Whether you're experiencing homelessness, working through addiction recovery, facing long-term unemployment, or just trying to get by day by day, Flipside C2C CIC believes that every person deserves the chance to feel safe, fulfil their potential and to have hope for the future. You don't need to have everything figured out, you just need to be willing to take the first step.

Based on real people's lived experience of homelessness, addiction and long term unemployment, the Flip Forward programme starts by ensuring you are feeling stable and confident enough for change - emotionally, practically and mentally. Delivered via workshops and one-to-one mentoring, you will be supported to develop the foundational skills that underpin everyday working life - teamwork; time management; reliability; and routine. You will then be assisted to develop the practical tools needed to approach the job market - writing your CV; filling out job applications; interview preparation; understanding workplace culture; and confidence. You will then be offered vocational training and/or a work placement, offering you real opportunities with real employers. Once you have secured a job, you will be supported to ensure you can sustain employment and continue to develop your skills.

This approach is person-centred and practical - about understanding your needs and concerns and helping you address them in ways that build your sense of agency, hope and motivation.
