More information

Hope Against Poverty CIC was founded to provide support for people facing tough times during the pandemic. Since then, working with South Cambridgeshire District Council, it has grown to incorporate a range of services for people in South Cambs.

Cambourne Food Hub:

Combatting both poverty and food waste, the Cambourne Food Hub is open to any resident of South Cambridgeshire who would like to access low/no cost food. As well as distributing surplus food, it sells affordable food and other essentials at very discounted rates.

You don’t need a professional foodbank referral voucher to receive food but you will be asked to fill out a short form to register with the Hub the first time you visit (you can also request this form via email). You will then receive a membership card that enables you to use the Hub. The Cambourne Food Hub is open three days a week (Monday, Wednesday & Friday 11am to 1pm). Anyone can use the Food Hub – you don’t have to be facing financial hardship.

Mobile Food Hubs:

Visiting villages in South Cambs that don’t have a foodbank, community pantry or food project, the mobile food hub provides the same service as Cambourne Food Hub and operates on the same principles. You don’t need a professional foodbank referral voucher to receive food but you will be asked to fill out a short form to register with the Hub the first time you visit or you can request a form via email.

Emergency Food Parcels:

Christmas Food Hampers:

In December, you can nominate a person or family resident in South Cambs that would benefit from a Christmas Food Hamper by emailing or calling Hope Against Poverty CIC.

This service is free.
