Maggie’s Cambridge

Back to Support

Maggie's provides practical and emotional support to those with cancer, their family, friends and carers. You can talk to qualified cancer support specialists, join groups and workshops, and chat with other people in the same situation.

Maggie’s is a charity providing free cancer support and information in centres across the UK and online. You don’t need a referral to access their services, and there’s no need to book ahead – you can just drop in. You are welcome to visit them at any stage of your cancer journey whether you are newly diagnosed, receiving treatment, in recovery or living with cancer. Friends and family of those with cancer are also welcome to visit and receive support. If you or someone you love has cancer, Maggie’s is there for you.

What to expect

You can drop in to the centre at Addenbrooke’s anytime from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. It is a warm and welcoming place – at the heart is a kitchen table where visitors can sit and chat with others in a similar situation, or just enjoy some quiet time with a cup of tea.

As a new visitor to the centre you will be met by a cancer support specialist who will talk with you about your current situation, help you decide what support best meets your needs, and make the appropriate referrals.

You will then be able to access practical support on things such as eating well, coping with hair loss and managing treatment side effects. There are also opportunities to speak with psychologists and benefits advisors, and join support groups and workshops on different topics.

To learn more about the support on offer at Maggie’s visit the website.

All of the services are free for both people with cancer and relatives who are seeking support for themselves. No need for an appointment, you can just drop in.
