Housing
Papworth Trust is a Registered Social Housing provider with 664 safe, enabling and accessible homes for tenants. These are made up of 173 general needs properties in Cambridgeshire and 491 supported living properties across the East of England. Many homes are fully wheelchair accessible and there are also standard specification properties for people who do not need any adaptations.
Employment
Papworth Trust is very proud of its history supporting disabled and disadvantaged people to find work. It delivers the WorkWell Programme in Peterborough in Partnership with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS) and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). WorkWell is a free, voluntary programme that helps people who maybe struggling to find or retain a job due to a health need. The Trust also provides two bespoke employment programmes for people with learning disabilities, ‘First Steps to Success’ and ‘Routeways to Work’.
Care
Papworth Trust delivers compassionate, professional care tailored to the needs of customers and their families while also promoting independence and social inclusion. The Trust specialises in supporting people with complex needs, often when they’ve transitioned from secure settings. All services are rated by CQC as either Good or Outstanding.
Day Opportunities
The Trust’s Day Opportunities exist to ensure that disabled people can acquire independent living skills, live healthy lives, and reduce social isolation. This service is delivered from five centres (in Abington, Basildon, Cambridge, Huntingdon and Ipswich) with people being able to access sessions in the community as well as at a centre. The Trust is constantly adapting to the needs of our customers as well as the changing world in which they live. This drives a blended model to support people to reach their potential. There’s more information on this webpage.
OWL Bikes
OWL Bikes offers quality refurbished bikes at great prices – whilst offering work and training opportunities for local disabled people. Routeways to Work is a project that combines work experience in our commercial bicycle shop and workshop, with employment support and guidance. The shop, based in Cambridge, sells refurbished bikes and accessories to the local community as well as carrying our repairs.
The main centre for Papworth Trust in the area is in Cambridge (Papworth Centre, Hawthorn Way, Cambridge, CB4 1AX).
