Phoenix Milton

What to expect

Phoenix Milton offers placements providing a meaningful experience of work and the development of social and life skills to adults with a range of learning disabilities.

Co-workers are supported at all times by trained staff and volunteers, and have the opportunity to work in three key departments:

• ​the factory producing concrete slabs and garden ornaments;
• the woodshed making a variety of items ranging from picnic tables and garden benches, to bird boxes and planters;
• the kitchen providing a daily two-course lunch for co-workers, volunteers and staff, as well as baking and preparing food for a cake-making and catering business – Phoenix Milton run a Community Café on the first Tuesday of each month (2.30-4.30pm) at Milton Community Centre, Coles Road, Milton, CB24 6BL.

Social and life skills will be developed and nurtured in a safe and inclusive environment. Co-workers who are independent in terms of their personal care can work at Phoenix Milton, and support workers are welcome to attend alongside co-workers.

Phoenix Milton also offers placements to students from special and mainstream local schools so they can experience the difference between school and work.
