Trumpington Kids Clothes Hub

Trumpington Kids Clothes Hub is run by a small group of local volunteers. They collect donations of good condition, pre-loved, clean, children’s clothes from ages 2-12yrs. They then redistribute them free of charge to local families that can make use of them.

By finding a new home for pre-loved clothes they aim to reduce costs for families, and also help the planet by reducing waste.

Accessing clothes

Anyone can access the second hand clothes, you don’t need a referral and all the clothes are free. The Hub just request that people only take what they can use. You can access clothes in the following ways:

Collect a box of items
You can fill in the online form on their website to request the clothes that you need, and they will then make up a parcel of items for you to collect. You can then request to collect the parcel from one of the following places:

• The Bakehouse, 1a Granchester Road, CB2 9LH (collect from the blue box on the porch anytime after 9:30am on specified day)
• The Food Hub, Trumpington Pavilion, King George V Playing Field, CB2 9JF (collect on Fridays, between 12-2pm).

Note that there is no delivery option, if you are unable to collect the parcel in person you can send someone else to collect on your behalf. The Hub are happy to accept requests from people helping Trumpington families e.g. Midwives, Health Visitors, Family workers, Social Workers, Teachers.

‘Pick your own’ stalls
The Hub often runs pop-up stalls at community events where you and your children can choose from a selection of everyday clothes, coats, school uniform, and seasonal items e.g. Christmas jumpers or swimwear. The details of upcoming events are posted on their Facebook page.

Trumpington Meadows and Fawcett Primary School Uniforms
Every Friday after school (during term time) there are rails of school uniform available at these schools. Just take what you need! At Trumpington Meadows the rail is in the main reception foyer. At Fawcett Primary the rail is in the main playground (weather dependent).

Donating clothes

If you would like to donate clothes, please ensure that they are suitable for children aged 2-12 years old, clean and wearable. Check the website for more details about the Hub’s requirements before donating.

You can then drop off clothes at the following places:

• The Bakehouse, 1a Granchester Road, CB2 9LH (blue box on porch)
• Donation box at Clay Farm Centre Hobson Square (box opposite library desk)

There is no cost to using Trumpington Kids Clothes Hub, all clothes are available for free.
