Swavesey Sheddit Community Shed

Back to Activities

Sheddit is a community shed based near Swavesey for men and women to make, mend and repair things - mostly out of recycled materials. It's a place where you can learn new skills and get to know others in a safe, friendly and supportive space.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it’s a good way to meet people and get out of the house;
  • you can make and mend things – learning new skills for your benefit and for the benefit of the local community;
  • re-using and recycling materials is good for the environment.

Visiting Sheddit:

What to expect

Located on a farm, Sheddit is a workshop and storage facility where adults can come and work on their own projects or use the recycled materials and donated tools and equipment to create items for sale or for the local community.

There’s always someone to chat to and regular members of the Sheddit community are happy to share their skills and knowledge.

More information

It is essential that people are fully briefed and prepared before they attend for the first time, so telephone or email an organiser (see contact info) so they can give you directions to the farm and show you around. They can also let you know when Sheddit will be open.

There’s plenty of car parking spaces (see video). The venue is wheelchair accessible but it’s worth talking to an organiser first about your mobility requirements. There’s no toilet onsite.

Tea and coffee is provided but bring your own milk and biscuits!
